Welcome to Catholic Online Learning Resources (“COLR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Catholic Online service operated by Catholic Online, Inc. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of catholicresources.education, including its educational resources, accounts, downloads, communications, and related services.

By accessing or using Catholic Online Learning Resources, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or its services.

1. Catholic Online Learning Resources

Catholic Online Learning Resources provides Catholic educational and faith-formation materials for families, teachers, catechists, parishes, schools, and individual learners. Available materials may include prayers, lessons, worksheets, activities, coloring pages, Bible resources, sacramental materials, images, and downloadable documents.

We may add, revise, replace, restrict, or discontinue resources and website features at any time. We do not guarantee that every resource or service will remain available indefinitely.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

Certain resources may require you to submit a free order, provide an email address, or create an account. You agree to provide accurate and current information when using these features.

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Restricting access to your account and devices
  • Activities conducted through your account
  • Promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization

If you are under the age required to enter into a binding agreement where you live, you may use the website only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Free Resource Orders and Downloads

Many resources are offered at no monetary charge. We may still use an order or checkout process to deliver a resource, create a download record, provide account access, or send a receipt and download link.

Completing a free order does not transfer ownership of the resource or its intellectual-property rights. It grants you only the limited permission described in these Terms and Conditions.

You are responsible for maintaining compatible software, devices, and internet access necessary to view or use downloaded materials.

4. License and Permitted Use

Unless a resource includes different written licensing terms, Catholic Online Learning Resources grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access, download, print, and use the resource for personal, family, classroom, parish, homeschool, or other noncommercial educational purposes.

Permitted uses may include:

  • Printing copies for your personal or family use
  • Using materials with students in a classroom or homeschool setting
  • Distributing reasonable quantities to participants in a parish or nonprofit educational program
  • Displaying materials during noncommercial instruction or faith formation

Unless we provide written permission, you may not:

  • Sell, license, rent, or commercially exploit a resource
  • Upload complete resources to another website, file-sharing service, or public repository
  • Remove copyright notices, credits, trademarks, or other ownership information
  • Present a resource as your own original work
  • Use automated systems to collect, scrape, download, or redistribute resources in bulk
  • Modify and redistribute a resource in a way that is misleading, unlawful, or inconsistent with Catholic teaching

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the website lawfully and respectfully. You may not use Catholic Online Learning Resources to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Interfere with the website’s operation, security, or availability
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, servers, or data
  • Transmit malware, harmful code, spam, or deceptive communications
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
  • Collect personal information about other users without authorization

Catholic Online, Catholic Online Learning Resources, associated logos, and related names and designs may not be used without prior written permission except as permitted by applicable law.

Some resources may incorporate public-domain material or content owned by third parties. Any third-party rights and notices remain in effect.

7. User Submissions and Feedback

If you submit comments, reviews, suggestions, corrections, messages, or other material, you represent that you have the right to provide that material and that it does not violate another person’s rights.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and adapt submitted material as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, promote, and support Catholic Online Learning Resources. This license does not transfer ownership of your original submission to us.

We may remove or decline to publish submissions that violate these Terms and Conditions or are otherwise inappropriate for the service.

8. Donations and Third-Party Payment Services

The website may contain opportunities to support our mission through donations. Donations and other transactions may be processed by third-party payment providers and may be subject to their separate terms and privacy policies.

Unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated during the transaction, donations are voluntary and nonrefundable.

9. Email Communications

If you choose to receive news, educational resources, or other updates, we may send communications to the email address you provide. You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the link included in the message.

We may still send service-related messages concerning your account, requested downloads, security, or changes affecting the services you use.

10. Third-Party Websites and Services

Catholic Online Learning Resources may contain links to websites, services, donation platforms, payment processors, social networks, or other resources operated by third parties.

We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, policies, or practices. Accessing a third-party service is at your discretion and may be governed by separate terms.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. By using the website, you acknowledge the practices described in that policy.

12. Educational and Informational Purposes

Resources provided through this website are intended for general educational, devotional, and informational purposes. They are not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, mental-health, or other specialized advice.

Although we work to provide useful and accurate information, users remain responsible for evaluating whether a resource is appropriate for their circumstances, students, parish, classroom, or intended use.

13. Availability and Website Changes

We may perform maintenance, install updates, change website functionality, or temporarily restrict access without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available access.

We may establish or modify limits concerning downloads, accounts, storage, features, or other aspects of the service when reasonably necessary for security, performance, legal compliance, or website operations.

14. Account Suspension and Termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to an account or service if we reasonably believe that a user has violated these Terms and Conditions, misused the website, threatened its security, infringed another party’s rights, or engaged in unlawful activity.

Sections concerning intellectual property, permitted use, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute terms will survive termination where applicable.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website, services, and resources are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

  • The website will always be available, secure, or free from errors
  • Every resource will meet your particular needs or expectations
  • Downloaded files will be compatible with every device or application
  • All information will always be complete, current, or error-free
  • Website defects or interruptions will be corrected immediately

Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of certain warranties, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Catholic Online, Inc., its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of—or inability to use—the website, services, or resources.

This includes damages resulting from lost data, interrupted access, reliance on website content, unauthorized access, third-party services, or downloaded materials.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

17. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Catholic Online, Inc. and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

19. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.

These Terms and Conditions, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms displayed for a particular service, constitute the agreement between you and Catholic Online Learning Resources regarding use of the website.
