The Gospel of John is the last Gospel to be written and contains the most mature theological reflection of the early Church. Its literary style is different, and it is filled with symbolic imagery. It tells different stories apart from the other three Gospels which precede it. The Gospel opens with a beautiful prologue and proclaims that the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, the Word through whom the universe was created, is now the Incarnate Word, the Son of God, Jesus Christ. John also vividly illustrates a series of seven signs, or miracles, that reveal the earthly ministry of Jesus as signs of the Kingdom of God breaking forth.
